Parent & Student Terms of Service
ExpertTeacherTutors
Last updated: 14 April 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ExpertTeacherTutors platform ("Platform") as a parent or student. By creating an account and using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
2. Account Registration
You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
If you are registering on behalf of a child under the age of 18, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and that you consent to their use of the Platform under your supervision.
3. Booking & Payments
All payments for tutoring sessions are processed securely via Stripe. The prices displayed on the Platform represent the tutor's full session rate.
Payment is taken at the time of booking. By completing a booking, you authorise ExpertTeacherTutors to charge the specified amount to your chosen payment method.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a scheduled session are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled session ("late cancellations") may not be eligible for a refund, at the Platform's discretion.
Where a refund is granted, it will be processed back to the original payment method. Please allow a reasonable period for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider.
5. Reviews
You may leave reviews for tutors after completed sessions. Reviews are an important part of the Platform and help other families make informed decisions.
All reviews must be honest, fair, and based on your genuine experience. Reviews must not contain abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate content.
We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines or that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or misleading.
6. Safeguarding
We take safeguarding seriously. Tutors on the Platform are required to display their DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check status on their profiles, and we take steps to verify tutor profiles.
However, ExpertTeacherTutors is a platform that connects tutors with families. While we verify tutor profiles, you should exercise your own judgement when selecting a tutor, particularly for sessions involving children or vulnerable individuals.
For face-to-face tutoring sessions involving minors, we strongly recommend that a parent or guardian is present in the home or nearby during the session.
7. Your Responsibilities
You are expected to attend all booked sessions or cancel in advance in accordance with the cancellation policy set out in these Terms.
You must treat tutors with respect and professionalism at all times. Abusive, harassing, or discriminatory behaviour towards tutors will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or termination of your account.
8. Platform Role
ExpertTeacherTutors is a marketplace platform that facilitates connections between tutors and families. We are not the provider of tuition services.
Tutors listed on the Platform are independent service providers and are not employees, agents, or representatives of ExpertTeacherTutors. The Platform does not control the manner or method by which tutors deliver their services.
9. Privacy
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and all applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
By using the Platform, you consent to the collection, processing, and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ExpertTeacherTutors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to the Platform in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice of any material changes, for example by email or by displaying a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at support@expertteachertutors.com.
